Ingredients

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Mini chocolate chips or crushed fruit for mix-ins (optional)

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and salt until evenly combined.

Gradually pour in the whole milk and heavy cream while whisking continuously until the mixture is smooth.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken and bubble, about 5-7 minutes.

Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and almond extract (if using).

Allow the mixture to cool for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.

If desired, fold in mini chocolate chips or crushed fruit for added flavor and texture.

Pour the cooled mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion.

Insert sticks and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until completely solid.

To release the popsicles, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds, then gently pull them out.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 6 hours | Servings: 8 popsicles
