Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

4 slices of prosciutto or ham

4 slices of Swiss cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup bread crumbs (preferably panko)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness (about 1/2 inch thick).

Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

Lay a slice of prosciutto and a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast. Roll the chicken tightly, tucking in the sides, and secure with toothpicks if needed.

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs.

Dredge each chicken roll in flour, dip in the beaten eggs, and coat with bread crumbs until fully covered.

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Carefully add the chicken rolls and cook until golden brown on all sides (about 3-4 minutes per side).

Once browned, transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

While the chicken is baking, prepare the creamy sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until combined and simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.

Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Serve the sliced chicken cordon bleu drizzled with the creamy sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.
