Instructions

Prepare the Cake:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.

      - In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

        - Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.

          - Stir in boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin).

            - Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cakes comes out clean. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

              Make the Turtle Filling:

                - In a medium bowl, combine the chopped pecans with caramel sauce and sea salt. Mix until the pecans are well-coated. Set aside.

                  Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:

                    - In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth and glossy; let it cool slightly to thicken.

                      Assemble the Cake:

                        - Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving platter. Spread half of the turtle filling evenly on the first layer. Top with the second layer and repeat the process.

                          - Place the final layer of the cake on top. Pour the cooled chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.

                            Garnish and Serve:

                              - Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the ganache and sprinkle with extra pecans for decoration.

                                - Slice, serve, and enjoy this decadent Turtle Chocolate Layer Cake!
