Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons red food coloring

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

1 cup cream cheese frosting (for topping)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate the vanilla extract and red food coloring until fully combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for added texture.

Bake the Brownies: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool and Frost: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes, then, if you used parchment paper, lift them out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Once fully cooled, spread a generous layer of cream cheese frosting on top for that classic red velvet touch.

Serve: Cut the brownies into squares or rectangles. Enjoy these fudgy delights with a glass of cold milk or your favorite beverage!
