Ingredients

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup brewed coffee, cooled (strong coffee works best)

½ cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup sour cream

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Topping:

½ cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon brewed coffee (or milk)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the cooled brewed coffee, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).

Cool: Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, brewed coffee (or milk), and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake.

Serve: Slice and serve the cake warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your delightful chocolate coffee goodness!
