Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced

1 medium jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped

1 small red onion, finely diced

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 1 lime

1 tablespoon honey (optional, for added sweetness)

Salt, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Strawberries: Start by hulling the strawberries and then finely dice them into small pieces. Place them in a mixing bowl.

Chop the Jalapeño: Carefully slice the jalapeño in half, remove the seeds (for milder salsa) and ribs if desired, and finely chop it. Add it to the mixing bowl with the strawberries.

Dice the Onion: Peel and finely dice the red onion. Add it to the strawberry and jalapeño mix. The onion adds a perfect crunch and flavor.

Add Fresh Cilantro: Chop the fresh cilantro and add it to the bowl. This herb complements the sweetness and adds a fresh, zesty flavor.

Mix in Lime Juice: Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture. This adds acidity and brightness to the salsa.

Add Honey (Optional): If you prefer a sweeter salsa, drizzle in some honey and mix well. Adjust the amount based on your taste preference.

Season with Salt: Sprinkle salt over the salsa and mix everything together until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Refrigerate: Allow the salsa to sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This helps the flavors meld together beautifully.

Serve: Serve your Strawberry Jalapeño Salsa with tortilla chips, grilled chicken, or fish for a refreshing and spicy twist!
