For the Brownies:

1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

For the Creamy Frosting:

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)

Fresh strawberries for garnish

Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

    Make Strawberry Puree: In a blender or food processor, puree the fresh strawberries until smooth. Set aside (you should have about 1 cup of puree).

      Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and strawberry puree, stirring until smooth.

        Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined. Do not overmix. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for extra chocolatey goodness.

          Bake Brownies: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

            Prepare Creamy Frosting: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract while mixing until well combined. If the frosting is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk until you reach the desired consistency.

              Frost the Brownies: Once the brownies are completely cool, remove them from the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Spread the creamy frosting evenly over the top of the brownies.
