Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons sesame oil

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon minced ginger

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

2 green onions, chopped

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Lettuce leaves (for wrapping)

Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, gochujang, minced garlic, minced ginger, black pepper, and rice vinegar. Whisk until well combined.

Add the Beef: Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade. Mix well to ensure the beef is coated evenly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor).

Prepare your Pan: Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. You can also use an outdoor grill if preferred.

Cook the Beef: Once the pan is hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the beef is caramelized and cooked through.

Add Garnishes: In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the beef, stirring gently to combine.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately. Enjoy the beef wrapped in lettuce leaves with a side of cooked rice.
