Sausage Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sliders + Video

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

12 mini slider buns

1 pound breakfast sausage (bulk or casings removed)

6 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Fresh chives or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.

Scramble the Eggs: In the same skillet used for the sausage, add butter and lower the heat to medium-low. Pour in the egg mixture and gently scramble until the eggs are just set but still soft, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.

Assemble the Sliders: In a large baking dish, split the mini slider buns in half. On the bottom half, layer the cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, and a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese.

Top with Buns: Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese. If desired, brush melted butter on top of the slider buns for extra flavor.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with chopped chives or parsley if desired. Serve the sliders warm and enjoy!
