Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

Juice of 1 large lemon (about 3 tablespoons)

Zest of 1 lemon

1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried)

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Lemon slices, for garnish

Optional: Fresh dill, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation: Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

Make the Sauce: In a medium-sized skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Add Lemon: Stir in the lemon juice and zest, and reduce the heat to low. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for another minute. Add the fresh parsley (or dried) to the sauce and mix well.

Cook the Salmon: In the same skillet, carefully add the salmon fillets skin-side down (if applicable). Cook for 4-5 minutes without moving them to create a nice sear. Flip the fillets gently and cook for another 3-4 minutes, spooning the garlic lemon butter sauce over the top to keep them moist.

Check Doneness: The salmon is ready when it flakes easily with a fork and has an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). If needed, cook briefly until the desired doneness is achieved.

Serve: Transfer the salmon to serving plates. Spoon additional garlic lemon butter sauce over the top and garnish with lemon slices and fresh dill if desired.

Enjoy: Serve immediately with a side of steamed vegetables or over a bed of rice to soak up the delicious sauce!
