Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until creamy and well-combined.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, until fully incorporated.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Add Chocolate Chips & Rice Krispies: Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, Rice Krispies cereal, and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop the Cookie Dough: Using a tablespoon or a cookie scoop, drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

Bake the Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Enjoy: Once cooled, enjoy your Rice Krispie chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!
