Retro Cafeteria Taco Pizza Squares

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup refried beans

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 medium tomato, diced

1/2 cup black olives, sliced

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup green onions, chopped

Salsa, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in the taco seasoning as per package instructions. Set aside.

On a baking sheet, unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into a rectangular shape. Pinch seams together to form a solid crust.

Bake the crescent crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.

Remove the crust from the oven and evenly spread the refried beans over the baked crust.

Top the beans with the seasoned ground beef, followed by an even layer of shredded cheddar cheese.

Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Once out of the oven, allow the pizza to cool for about 5 minutes.

Cut into squares and top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced olives, green onions, and dollops of sour cream.

Serve warm with salsa on the side, if desired.
