Ingredients

1 pound refrigerated pizza dough

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

½ cup provolone cheese, shredded

1 cup Italian deli meats (e.g., salami, pepperoni, ham), sliced

½ cup bell peppers, diced (optional)

½ cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 14x10 inches. Make sure it’s evenly rolled to avoid uneven cooking.

Layer the Ingredients: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Layer the Italian deli meats on top, followed by the diced bell peppers and sliced mushrooms if using.

Season It: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning over the top for an extra flavor boost.

Roll It Up: Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough over the fillings, tucking as you go, to create a log shape. Pinch the ends together to seal, and ensure there are no gaps where the cheese might ooze out during baking.

Prepare for Baking: Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top and sides with the beaten egg for a golden crust, and make a few slits in the top with a sharp knife to allow steam to escape.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the stromboli is golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Slice: Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Slice the stromboli into thick pieces and serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
