Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream the Butters and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

Add Eggs and Extracts: Mix in the eggs, one at a time, incorporating well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract and peppermint extract until fully combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

Fold in Chocolate Chips and Peppermint: Gently fold in the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies, ensuring an even distribution throughout the dough.

Scoop the Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving a couple of inches between each cookie for spreading.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look a bit soft, but they will firm up as they cool.

Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
