Ingredients

1 cup pecans, chopped

1 box yellow cake mix

1 cup unsalted butter, melted (2 sticks)

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 cup corn syrup

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Evenly spread the chopped pecans on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until well blended.

Pour the mixture over the chopped pecans in the baking dish.

Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the top of the pecan mixture. Do not stir; allow the dry mix to sit on top.

Drizzle a little more melted butter (optional, about 1-2 tablespoons) over the cake mix for extra richness.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the cake is golden and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
