Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar (light or dark)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

A pinch of salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a medium-sized skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it begins to foam.

Sprinkle the brown sugar and ground cinnamon into the melted butter, stirring gently to combine.

Add a pinch of salt to enhance the sweetness, then stir in the vanilla extract if using.

Carefully place the banana slices into the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn golden brown.

Gently flip the banana slices using a spatula and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side.

For an extra zing, drizzle the lemon juice over the bananas in the last minute of cooking.

Once both sides are caramelized and the sugar has melted into a syrup, remove the skillet from the heat.

Serve warm, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired. These pan-fried bananas make a perfect topping for pancakes, yogurt, or as a standalone dessert!
