Ingredients

4 (6 oz) salmon fillets, skin-on

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 lemon, sliced

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a crispy exterior. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down.

Mix the Cajun Rub: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper until well combined. This will create a flavorful paste.

Season the Fillets: Using a brush or your hands, evenly coat the top of each salmon fillet with the Cajun spice mixture, ensuring to get it well covered.

Add Lemon Slices: Place lemon slices on top of the seasoned salmon, adding a burst of citrus flavor that will complement the spices during cooking.

Roast the Salmon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the salmon for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving for a touch of color.

Enjoy Your Dish: Serve the oven-roasted Cajun salmon with your choice of side dishes, such as sautéed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
