Outrageous Garlic Cheese Bread

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 large baguette or sourdough loaf

1 cup (unsalted) butter, softened

6 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Slice the Bread: Cut the baguette or sourdough loaf in half lengthwise. If you prefer smaller pieces, you can slice it into individual pieces, making sure not to cut all the way through the bottom crust.

Spread the Garlic Butter: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over both halves of the bread. Make sure to cover it evenly to ensure every bite is loaded with flavor.

Add the Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the garlic buttered bread.

Bake the Bread: Place the bread halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.

Broil for Extra Crispiness: For an extra crispy top, switch the oven to broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, but watch closely to prevent burning.

Serve: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Cut into pieces if you haven’t already and serve warm alongside marinara sauce or enjoy on its own!
