Ingredients

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tablespoon sugar

2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Zest of 1 orange

½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice

1 packet (1 oz) gelatin (optional, for extra firmness)

¼ cup cold water (if using gelatin)

Orange slices and whipped cream for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the crust: In a medium mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until the crumbs are well coated. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create an even layer. Refrigerate for about 15-20 minutes to set.

Make the filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add the vanilla extract, orange zest, and freshly squeezed orange juice, mixing until completely combined.

Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until there are no streaks remaining.

Optional gelatin step: If you wish to use gelatin for a firmer texture, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water in a small bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom. Then, gently heat the mixture in the microwave or on the stove until just dissolved (do not boil). Allow to cool slightly, then stir it into the cheesecake mixture before pouring it into the crust.

Assemble the cheesecake: Pour the orange filling into the chilled graham cracker crust. Smooth the top with a spatula and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set. For best results, overnight chilling is recommended.

Serve: Once set, carefully remove the sides of the springform pan. Garnish with additional whipped cream and fresh orange slices on top before slicing and serving.
