Monkey Bread Recipe

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

3 cans of refrigerated biscuit dough (16.3 oz each)

1 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

a pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan with non-stick spray or butter.

In a medium bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

Open the biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters.

Roll each piece of biscuit into a ball and then roll it in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well-coated.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.

Layer about half of the cinnamon-sugar-coated biscuit balls in the bundt pan. If using, sprinkle half of the chopped pecans over the layer.

Pour half of the buttery brown sugar mixture over the first layer in the bundt pan.

Add the remaining biscuit balls in another layer, topping with the rest of the pecans if desired. Drizzle the remaining buttery brown sugar mixture over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dough is fully cooked.

Allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully invert the pan onto a serving platter.

Pull apart the warm monkey bread to enjoy. Serve with any leftover melted butter or cream cheese icing if desired.
