Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

8 oz wide rice noodles or egg noodles

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

1 cup green onions, chopped (reserve some for garnish)

1 cup carrots, julienned

1 cup bell pepper, sliced (red or green)

1/2 cup water or beef broth

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Brown the Beef: In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Aromatics: Once the beef is cooked, stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Incorporate Vegetables: Add the julienned carrots, sliced bell peppers, and half of the chopped green onions to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the vegetables begin to soften.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour this sauce over the beef and veggies in the skillet. Add the water or beef broth, stirring to combine.

Combine Noodles: Gently toss the cooked noodles into the skillet with the beef and sauce mixture. Stir until everything is well combined and heated through, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Garnish and Serve: Plate the Mongolian ground beef noodles in serving bowls, sprinkling reserved green onions and sesame seeds on top. Enjoy your delicious meal warm!
