Ingredients

2 large apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

1 tablespoon of cinnamon

1/4 cup of sugar (for sprinkling)

1/4 cup of apricot jam (for glazing)

Flour (for dusting)

Water (for sealing dough)

Instructions

Prepare the Apples:

    - Wash and slice the apples in half. Remove the core and cut the apples into thin slices (about 1/8 inch thick).

      - Place the slices in a bowl and toss them with lemon juice to prevent browning. Add enough water to cover the slices and microwave on high for about 3 minutes to soften the slices. Drain and let cool.

        Roll Out the Pastry:

          - On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the pastry into strips about 2 inches wide and 12 inches long.

            Add Apple Slices:

              - Arrange the apple slices along one edge of the pastry strip, overlapping them slightly to create the effect of petals. Make sure the top edges of the apple slices are slightly above the top edge of the pastry.

                Sprinkle with Cinnamon and Sugar:

                  - Lightly sprinkle the apples with cinnamon and some sugar for sweetness.

                    Fold the Pastry:

                      - Fold the bottom edge of the pastry strip up over the apples, creating a pocket that holds the apple slices in place.

                        Roll the Pastry:

                          - Starting from one end, carefully roll the pastry up to create a rose shape. Pinch the ends to seal and ensure the roses hold their shape.

                            Prepare for Baking:

                              - Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners or spray with cooking spray. Place the apple roses into each cup.

                                Bake:

                                  - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the apple roses for about 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

                                    Glaze and Serve:

                                      - In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the apricot jam until it becomes a liquid. Brush the warm jam over the baked apple roses for a shiny finish.

                                        - Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delightful Mini Apple Roses!
