1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

1 egg yolk (discard the white or save for another use)

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

Optional: a sprinkle of sea salt for topping

Instructions
 

In a microwave-safe mug, melt the butter in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds.

    Once melted, remove the mug from the microwave and stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.

      Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, stirring to blend.

        Mix in the egg yolk until smooth.

          Gradually add in the flour, stirring until no dry flour remains. The mixture should be thick and well combined.

            Fold in the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the dough.
