Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 lb hot Italian sausage

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese

1 packet taco seasoning

1/2 cup chopped green onions

1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)

Tortilla chips (for serving)

Instructions

Brown the Meats: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and hot Italian sausage. Cook until both are browned and cooked through, breaking them apart with a wooden spoon or spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Mix the Ingredients: In the same skillet with the cooked meats, add the black beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes (with their juices), and taco seasoning. Stir to combine everything evenly.

Add Creamy Elements: Reduce the heat to low and carefully stir in the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix until the cream cheese is melted and fully incorporated, creating a smooth, creamy texture.

Cheesy Goodness: Mix in the shredded cheddar and pepper jack cheese, reserving a small handful of each for topping. Stir until well combined and the cheeses are melted.

Garnish: Fold in the chopped green onions and black olives (if using) for an extra layer of flavor.

Bake (optional): For a bubbly finish, you can transfer the dip to an oven-safe dish, sprinkle the reserved cheeses on top, and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Serve: Serve hot with a generous amount of tortilla chips for dipping. Enjoy your Meaty Texas Trash Dip with friends and family for an unforgettable gathering!
