Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin-on or skinless)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust for spice preference)

Juice and zest of 1 lime

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sriracha, lime juice, and lime zest. Mix well to ensure the honey is fully dissolved.

Marinate the Salmon: Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper. Place the fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.

Cook the Salmon: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down if applicable. Sear the salmon for about 4-5 minutes, without moving, until the skin is crispy.

Add Aromatics: Flip the fillets carefully and add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, spooning some of the marinade over the fish during the last minute of cooking for extra flavor.

Reduce the Sauce: Once the salmon is cooked (internal temperature should reach 145°F/63°C), remove it from the skillet. Increase the heat and let the marinade simmer in the pan for about 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Serve: Plate the salmon fillets and drizzle the reduced marinade over each. Garnish with chopped cilantro and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Pair and Enjoy: This dish pairs beautifully with jasmine rice and steamed asparagus or green beans. Celebrate your special occasion with this rich and flavorful Marry Me Salmon!
