Jalapeño Popper Wonton Cups

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 package of wonton wrappers (about 30 wrappers)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)

1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)

2-3 fresh jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Wonton Cups: Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or olive oil. Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup, making sure the corners stick up above the edges to form a cup shape.

Bake the Wonton Wrappers: Bake the wonton wrappers for about 5-7 minutes or until they are slightly golden. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked bacon (if using), chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.

Fill the Wonton Cups: Remove the baked wonton cups from the oven. Carefully spoon the jalapeño popper filling into each cup, filling them generously.

Bake Again: Return the filled wonton cups to the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden on top.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Top with chopped green onions for a fresh garnish if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Jalapeño Popper Wonton Cups!
