Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled

1/4 cup sliced black olives

1/4 cup sliced bell peppers (red or green)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and place a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 12x16.

Layer the Fillings: Begin by spreading the marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

Add the Meats and Veggies: Layer pepperoni, crumbled Italian sausage, black olives, and sliced bell peppers on top of the cheese. Be sure to distribute them evenly.

Season It Up: Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the filling to enhance the flavor.

Roll It Up: Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log shape, tucking in the filling as necessary. Make sure the seam is facing down to hold everything together.

Seal the Edges: Pinch the ends of the Stromboli to seal them. You can also fold them under for a cleaner look.

Prepare for Baking: Place the rolled Stromboli onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Score the Top: Using a sharp knife, make a few shallow slashes on top of the Stromboli to allow steam to escape during baking.

Bake: Place the Stromboli in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Let It Cool: Remove from the oven and let it cool for around 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Serve: Cut the Stromboli into slices and serve warm with additional marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

Prep Time: 20 min | Total Time: 45 min | Servings: 4-6 slices
