At the heart of any baked good lies flour, and for our Hot Fudge Brownie Bread, all-purpose flour serves as the foundation. It provides the necessary structure and stability to the loaf, allowing it to rise and hold its shape. When measuring flour, it's essential to spoon it into the measuring cup and level it off to avoid using too much, which can lead to a dense loaf.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup hot fudge sauce (plus extra for drizzling)

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until incorporated.

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips and hot fudge sauce until evenly dispersed throughout the batter. If using, add the chopped walnuts or pecans at this stage.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly to the corners.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (a few moist crumbs are fine).

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

For serving, slice the brownie bread and drizzle with additional hot fudge sauce for that extra indulgence. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
