Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup honey

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (preferably roasted)

1/4 cup honey for glazing (optional)

Extra pecans for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk together until well mixed.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In another bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Gradually add the sugar mixture until combined.

Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Then, mix in the buttermilk, honey, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined—do not overmix! Gently fold in the chopped pecans.

Bake the Bread: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Glaze and Cool: Once baked, allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. If you want an extra touch, warm the remaining honey and drizzle it over the loaf while it’s still warm. Garnish with extra pecans on top.

Slice and Serve: Once completely cooled, slice the pecan bread and serve it warm or at room temperature. Perfect as a breakfast treat or a delightful snack throughout the day!
