Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

4 cloves garlic, minced

¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

3 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon black pepper

Olive oil (for greasing and brushing)

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until the dough starts to come together.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook for this step.

First Rise: Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the minced garlic, parsley, rosemary, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper. Set aside.

Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it into a large rectangle (about 12x18 inches).

Add the Filling: Brush the rolled dough with olive oil and evenly spread the herb and garlic mixture over the surface.

Form the Rolls: Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces (about 1.5 inches each).

Second Rise: Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for another 30 minutes, or until slightly puffed.

Preheat Oven: During the second rise, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake: Once risen, bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Cool & Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Drizzle with melted butter or olive oil if desired, and serve warm.
