Ham and Cheese Sticks

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

8 oz sliced deli ham

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup chopped green onions

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried dill weed

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

8 large flour tortillas (10-inch)

1 cup bread crumbs (for coating)

2 large eggs, beaten (for egg wash)

Cooking spray or oil for frying

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, dried dill, and black pepper. Mix until well blended to create a creamy filling.

Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous amount of the cheese mixture over the tortilla, leaving about an inch around the edges.

Place two slices of ham on top of the cheese mixture, covering the surface evenly.

Starting from one end, roll the tortilla tightly, making sure the filling is secured inside. Repeat with remaining tortillas.

Once all the tortillas are rolled, slice each roll into 1-inch thick pieces.

Preheat your frying pan over medium heat and spritz with cooking spray or a small amount of oil.

Dip each sliced roll into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated, then roll it in the bread crumbs until well coated.

Place the coated sticks in the heated pan, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Once cooked, transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce such as honey mustard or ranch dressing.
