Ingredients
  

1 package (8 ounces) crescent roll dough

4 ounces thinly sliced ham

4 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced or grated

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Fresh herbs (like thyme or parsley) for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard and honey until well combined. This will be your flavorful spread.

      Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles, following the perforated lines.

        Spread a thin layer of the mustard mixture on each triangle of dough.

          Layer a slice of ham on each triangle followed by a slice or generous sprinkle of Swiss cheese.

            Starting from the wider end of the triangle, carefully roll up each crescent dough triangle towards the pointed end, making sure to tuck in the edges.

              Place the rolled croissants on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced a bit apart.

                In a small bowl, beat the egg, and then brush it over the tops of the croissant rolls to give them a beautiful golden color once baked.

                  Sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper on top for added flavor.
