Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups powdered sugar (for decorating)

1-2 tbsp milk (for consistency)

Edible black glitter or chocolate chips (for eyes)

Halloween-themed sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).

Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not over-mix.

Shape the Cookies: Using a cookie scoop or your hands, form dough balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, flattening them slightly into ghost shapes.

Bake the Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Prepare the Icing: In a bowl, mix the powdered sugar with enough milk to reach a pourable consistency. Adjust as necessary, adding more powdered sugar or milk to achieve your desired thickness.

Decorate the Ghost Cookies: Once the cookies are completely cool, use a spoon or piping bag to drizzle the icing over the cooled cookies. Add edible black glitter or chocolate chips for the ghost eyes, and sprinkle with Halloween-themed sprinkles if desired.

Enjoy: Allow the icing to set for a bit before serving your spooktacular creations!
