Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 green bell pepper, diced

1 red bell pepper, diced

2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

2 tbsp tomato paste

2 tbsp chili powder

1 tbsp cumin

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for heat)

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup beef broth

1 tbsp olive oil

1 cup corn (optional)

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Sour cream and shredded cheese, for serving

Instructions

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion, garlic, and bell peppers, and sauté until they are soft, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the ground beef to the pot. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the spices are fragrant.

Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, beef broth, and corn (if using). Stir well to combine all ingredients.

Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes. The longer it simmers, the more flavorful it becomes! Stir occasionally and add more broth if it appears too thick.

Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. If you prefer spicier chili, add more cayenne pepper.

To serve, garnish each bowl with fresh cilantro, a dollop of sour cream, and shredded cheese if desired.

                Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 6-8
