Glazed Pigs In a Blanket

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 package of mini cocktail sausages (about 12 ounces)

1 can of crescent roll dough or puff pastry (8 oz)

1/3 cup of brown sugar

1/4 cup of honey

2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon of paprika

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

Cooking spray or butter (for greasing)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough or puff pastry onto a clean surface. If using crescent rolls, separate the dough into the individual triangles. For puff pastry, cut it into squares of about 3x3 inches.

Wrap the Sausages: Place one cocktail sausage at the wide end of each triangle or square of dough. Roll it up tightly, from the wide end to the point, ensuring the dough envelops the sausage completely. Press the seams to seal.

Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper until well combined. Set aside.

Place on Baking Sheet: Arrange the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart to allow for even cooking.

Glaze the Pigs: Brush the glaze generously over the tops of each wrapped sausage using a pastry brush. Reserve some glaze for later to brush again after baking.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed up.

Add Extra Glaze: Remove from the oven and immediately brush the remaining glaze over the pigs in a blanket for an extra layer of sweetness and flavor.

Serve: Allow to cool slightly, then transfer to a serving platter. Enjoy warm!
