GARLIC KNOTS

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

6 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Dough: If using store-bought pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. If making your own dough, prepare it first and allow it to rise.

Shape Knots: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle. Cut it into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. Take each strip and tie it into a knot, tucking the ends underneath. Place each knot on the prepared baking sheet.

Make Garlic Butter: In a saucepan, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine.

Brush Knots: Using a pastry brush, generously brush the garlic butter mixture over each dough knot, making sure to coat them well.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the knots are golden brown and puffed.

Add Parmesan: Once baked, remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the hot knots while they are still warm.

Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving with warm marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
