Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

8 oz linguine or spaghetti

6 tbsp unsalted butter

2 tbsp olive oil

6 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Juice of 1 lemon (about 3 tbsp)

Zest of 1 lemon

1/4 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Prep the Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter with the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once melted and bubbly, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip them over. Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and add the lemon juice and zest. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through.

Combine: Reduce the heat to low and add the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter, stirring until melted. If the mixture is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Mix with Pasta: Toss the cooked linguine in the skillet with the garlic butter shrimp. Mix well to coat the pasta evenly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, stir in the chopped parsley, and add more lemon juice if desired. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and lemon wedges.
