Ingredients

4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dried parsley (plus extra for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the baking dish: Lightly grease a baking dish with a bit of olive oil or butter to prevent sticking.

Prepare the garlic butter: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Season the cod: On a large plate or cutting board, season the cod fillets with paprika, salt, and pepper on both sides.

Combine with garlic butter: Pour half of the garlic butter mixture over the seasoned cod fillets in the baking dish. Drizzle lemon juice over the top, then pour the remaining garlic butter mixture over the cod.

Bake in the oven: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cod is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Garnish and serve: Remove the cod from the oven, sprinkle with dried parsley for garnish, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
