French Toast

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut brioche or challah bread

2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sweetness)

1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for cooking)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Fresh berries (blueberries, strawberries) for garnish

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined and slightly frothy.

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.

Dip each slice of brioche or challah into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated but not overly soaked.

Place the coated bread slices onto the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter to the pan as needed.

Serve hot with a drizzle of maple syrup, a sprinkle of powdered sugar, and fresh berries on top.
