Easy Recipe with Caramel & Chocolate

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/4 cup milk chocolate chips (for drizzling)

1/2 teaspoon sea salt (for topping, optional)

Optional: nuts or crushed cookies for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Caramel: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and cook, stirring frequently until it melts completely and turns a golden brown color. Be careful not to burn it.

Add Butter: Once the sugar is melted, add the chopped butter. Stir until the butter is melted and mixed in thoroughly.

Incorporate Cream: Slowly drizzle in the heavy cream while stirring constantly. It may bubble up vigorously, so be cautious. Continue to stir until you have a smooth mixture.

Flavor it Up: Add vanilla extract and sea salt to the caramel, mixing well. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Melt the Chocolate: While your caramel is cooling, in a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted and smooth.

Combine the Layers: In a serving dish or individual cups, first layer the warm caramel (reserve some for drizzling) followed by the melted chocolate. Allow it to cool and set.

Prepare for Drizzling: In another bowl, melt the milk chocolate chips in the microwave in the same way you did for the semi-sweet chocolate. Drizzle over the top of the set chocolate layer.

Garnish & Serve: If desired, sprinkle with additional sea salt and add nuts or crushed cookies for extra texture. Allow it to cool completely before serving, or enjoy while it’s still warm!
