For the Dough:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 1/4 tsp instant yeast

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup milk, warmed

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

For the Cinnamon Filling:

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2-3 tbsp milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Stir until well mixed. Add the warmed milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined.

    Add Remaining Flour: Gradually incorporate the remaining cup of flour until a soft dough forms. If the dough is sticky, you can add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time, until manageable.

      Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

        Let it Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm space for about 20 minutes or until doubled in size.

          Prepare the Filling: While the dough is rising, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl until well combined.

            Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle shape (about 1/4 inch thick).

              Add Filling: Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

                Roll and Cut: Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Slice it into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

                  Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 15-20 minutes while you preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

                    Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

                      Make the Glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth. Adjust milk as necessary for desired consistency.

                        Glaze the Rolls: Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling the cream cheese glaze over the top.

                          Serve warm and enjoy your delicious, soft, and gooey cinnamon rolls!
