1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Cheesecake Layer:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Make the Brownie Layer:

      - In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.

        - Beat in the cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined. Set aside.

          Prepare the Cheesecake Layer:

            - In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until smooth.

              - Add the egg, vanilla extract, and flour, mixing until fully blended. Make sure there are no lumps.

                Assemble the Layers:

                  - Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

                    - Add dollops of the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer. Use a knife or toothpick to swirl the cheesecake into the brownie batter.

                      - Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and repeat the swirling process with any remaining cheesecake mix for a marbled effect.

                        Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).
