Easy 30 Minute Chocolate Biscuits

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to combine.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In another bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add both sugars and continue to beat until light and fluffy.

Add Egg and Vanilla: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until the flour is incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Shape the Biscuits: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set and the tops are slightly cracked.

Cool: Remove the biscuits from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy: Once cooled, enjoy your delicious chocolate biscuits with a cup of tea or coffee!
