Ingredients

1 cup fresh spinach leaves

1/2 cup kale, stems removed and chopped

1 medium green apple, cored and chopped

1/2 ripe avocado

1/2 cucumber, peeled and chopped

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 cup coconut water (or filtered water)

A handful of fresh mint leaves (optional)

Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

Start by rinsing the spinach and kale leaves thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or grit.

In a blender, combine the spinach, kale, chopped green apple, avocado, and cucumber.

Add the fresh lemon juice for a zesty flavor and the chia seeds, which will add fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.

Pour in the coconut water for hydration or filtered water for a lighter texture.

If desired, toss in a handful of fresh mint leaves to enhance the freshness of the smoothie.

Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, making sure all the ingredients are well combined.

If you prefer a colder smoothie, add ice cubes and blend again until you reach your desired consistency.

Taste and adjust sweetness with additional green apple or a splash of honey or agave syrup (optional).

Pour into glasses and serve immediately, garnished with a slice of cucumber or a sprig of mint if desired.
