Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp cocoa powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 tbsp red food coloring

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup sour cream

1 cup white chocolate chips (or cream cheese chips for extra flavor)

½ cup cream cheese, softened (for frosting)

¾ cup powdered sugar (for frosting)

½ tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Optional: Red sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

Add Egg and Flavors: Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until fully incorporated.

Combine with Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Stir in Sour Cream and Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the sour cream and white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Scoop and Bake: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie as they will spread slightly. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges start to set, but the centers may appear soft. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Prepare the Frosting: While the cookies cool, make the frosting. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until smooth and creamy.

Frost the Cookies: Once the cookies have completely cooled, spread a generous dollop of cream cheese frosting on top of each cookie.

Garnish if Desired: Sprinkle some red sprinkles on top of the frosting for a festive touch.
