Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 3/4 cups milk

1/2 cup melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Cooking spray (for waffle iron)

Maple syrup or chocolate sauce (for serving)

Fresh fruits (berries or banana slices, optional)

Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using) until well combined.

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are fine.

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly grease it with cooking spray.

Pour enough batter into the waffle iron to cover the surface, ensuring it doesn't overflow. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden and crispy. This may take about 3-5 minutes, but check according to your waffle iron's specifications.

Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and place them on a cutting board. Allow them to cool slightly before cutting them into thin sticks.

Serve the crispy waffle sticks warm with a drizzle of maple syrup or chocolate sauce, and garnish with fresh fruits if desired.
