Crispy Honey Garlic Salmon Bites

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into bite-sized cubes

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

1/4 cup honey

3 tbsp soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp ginger, grated

1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional for garnish)

2 green onions, sliced (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon: In a mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Add the salmon cubes and toss until well coated. This will help achieve a crispy texture.

Heat the Oil: In a large pan, pour enough oil to generously cover the bottom (about 1/4 inch deep). Heat over medium-high until shimmering.

Fry the Salmon Bites: Carefully add the coated salmon cubes to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and set them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir well and let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Coat the Salmon: Once the salmon bites are fried, add them to the sauce pan with the honey garlic sauce. Gently toss to coat all the pieces evenly.

Serve: Transfer the coated salmon bites to a serving platter. If desired, garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
