Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

4 slices of thick-cut bacon, chopped

3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the halved Brussels sprouts. Sauté them for about 4-5 minutes until they’re slightly caramelized. This step enhances their flavor.

Add Seasonings: Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the Brussels sprouts. Toss them until they’re evenly coated.

Bake: Spread the Brussels sprouts out on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are crispy, tender, and golden brown, stirring halfway through for even cooking.

Combine with Bacon: Once the Brussels sprouts are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle the crispy bacon over the top. If using, add the grated Parmesan cheese and toss gently to combine.

Serve: Transfer the crispy balsamic Brussels sprouts with bacon to a serving dish and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Enjoy warm as a delicious side dish!
