Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

2 cans of crescent roll dough

8 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of your choice)

1 cup cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled (or diced ham/bacon)

1 small bell pepper, diced (optional)

1 small onion, diced

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, add a teaspoon of oil and sauté the diced onion and bell pepper until softened, about 5-7 minutes. If using sausage, add it to the skillet to warm it through. Remove from heat.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a crust.

Spread the cooked sausage mixture over the dough evenly, followed by the shredded cheese.

Pour the egg mixture over the top, ensuring everything is evenly covered.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the egg is set and the top is golden brown.

Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives, if desired.
