Ingredients

1 tube of refrigerated crescent roll dough

6 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)

1 cup diced cooked sausage or ham (optional)

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (mixed colors)

1/2 cup diced onions

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh herbs for garnish (chives or parsley, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom and up the sides of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Pinch the seams together to seal.

Cook the Vegetables: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onions and bell peppers for about 5 minutes until they are softened. If using sausage or ham, add it to the skillet and cook until heated through.

Mix the Egg Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Season with salt and pepper.

Assemble the Squares: Spread the cooked sausage, peppers, and onions evenly over the prepared crescent dough. Pour the egg mixture on top and sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the egg is set and the top is lightly golden.

Cool and Slice: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Cut into squares and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm, and enjoy your delicious Crescent Breakfast Squares!
